If this is your first ski or snowboard trip, here's what to expect when you collect your gear from Shusski at the La Massana gondola.

Know your measurements
Bring your height and weight in metric where possible. The shop has conversion charts, but having the numbers ready means a quicker fitting.

Have your voucher ready
Your Shusski voucher can be on your phone or printed — either works. Showing it on arrival is the fastest way to be served.

Get fitted with boots
Boots come first. Ski boots are stiff and buckle; snowboard boots are softer with laces or a dial. The fitter will check the fit before moving you on to skis or a board.

Skis or board sized to you
Skis and boards are matched to your height, weight and ability. Snowboarders will be asked goofy or regular. Ski bindings are set to a DIN value calculated from your weight and experience for safe release.

Collect your poles
Skiers only. Hold a pole upside down with your hand under the basket — if your forearm sits at about 90 degrees, the length is right.

All rental skis and boards carry a serial number — make a note of yours, especially if you're storing equipment overnight in the shared shop area.
La Massana is the largest town near Pal-Arinsal and the most convenient base for anyone driving in or wanting more shops, restaurants and supermarkets than Arinsal village offers. Helmets are legally required for children under 18 on Andorra's slopes. Every child's rental booked through Arinsal.co.uk includes a free helmet for the duration of the stay — no need to add it separately at checkout.
For adults, helmets can be added at checkout. Sizes can sell out in peak weeks, so pre-booking is the safest way to guarantee a correct fit on the day you collect.
Because Shusski is housed inside the La Massana gondola building, the shop itself doubles as overnight storage — leave your gear after your last run, collect it the next morning, and head straight up the mountain. For anyone staying in La Massana, this is by far the most convenient setup.
