Why pre-book with us

One partner, three convenient shops.

Save 30% off resort prices with no credit card or booking fees. Esports St Moritz has three shops in Arinsal — the largest sits in the village centre roughly 60 metres from the gondola station, the second is directly at the top of the gondola, and the third is at the top of the village by the six-man chairlift (next to the Ushuaia and Patagonia hotels). Combine your ski hire with lift passes or lessons at checkout for even bigger savings.

Beginner's guide

Renting equipment for the first time?

If this is your first ski or snowboard trip, here's a walkthrough of exactly what to expect when you collect your gear from one of the Esports St Moritz shops.

  1. 1

    Know your measurements

Before you arrive, know your height and weight (preferably in metric — though the shop has conversion charts if you only know imperial). This helps the technician size your equipment quickly.

  2. 2

    Have your voucher ready

When you arrive at the shop make sure you have your ski hire voucher ready, which can be printed or just on your phone, so the shop staff can serve you quicker.

  3. 3

    Get fitted with boots

Your first task in the shop is boot fitting — correct fit is essential for comfort and safety. Snowboard boots are soft and fasten with laces or a dial system; ski boots are harder and fasten with buckles. The fitter will check the fit before sending you on for skis or a board.

  4. 4

Skis or board sized to you

Equipment is chosen based on your weight, height and ability — expect a few quick questions. Snowboarders: confirm if you ride 'goofy' (right foot forward) or 'regular' (left foot forward). Bindings are adjusted to your boots, with ski DIN settings set by experience and weight (they release when you fall).

  5. 5

    Pick up your poles

Skiers only. To check pole length, turn it upside down and place your hand under the basket (the plastic disc near the bottom). If your arm sits at a 90-degree angle, the pole is the right length.

  6. 6

    Note the serial number

All rental skis and snowboards have a serial number etched or stuck onto them. Make a note of yours — it helps you track your equipment from communal storage and confirms the shop you're returning the same gear you collected.

All of our shops carry a wide range of ski equipment catering for every level. The economy ranges all start with carving skis (shaped to help you turn) as a minimum standard. Moving up the categories you'll find higher-specification skis — race carvers, twin tips, all-mountain skis and rocker skis. Visit the equipment section of our online shop for the full list of skis on offer in each resort and category. All rental skis come complete with poles, and you can choose to hire skis with or without boots.

Budget skis

Ideal for beginners or anyone who just wants a comfortable, easy ride. They're softer, more forgiving, and designed to make learning as smooth as possible.

Performance skis

Stiffer, more responsive, and better suited to intermediate skiers who want to progress. They carve more precisely and handle a wider range of conditions — the sweet spot between price and quality.

Premium skis

Top-of-the-range current-season models — the same equipment you'd find in the shops this year. If you're an advanced skier and want the best edge grip and the latest technology, premium is the way to go.

Make a note of the reference number on the sticker attached to your rental skis or snowboard — lots of equipment looks the same, so this helps you pick up the right pair from communal storage at the slopes or your hotel.

Each shop carries a great range of snowboards, starting with the value-for-money economy range — well-suited to beginners — and working up to the latest current-season boards, including freeride and rocker shapes for confident riders.

Boots are sized during fitting and bindings are adjusted to your weight and ability. If you already own boots you can hire a board-only package at a reduced rate — just select the snowboard-only option at checkout.

Unsure between a budget and performance board? Go performance — the difference in ride quality is significant for not much extra cost.

Helmets are mandatory for children under 18 on Andorra's slopes and strongly recommended for adults. Helmets are included free of charge with every child's equipment rental at all of our partner shops — across Soldeu, El Tarter, Pas de la Casa and Arinsal.

For adults, a helmet can be added to any rental at checkout. If you prefer to bring your own that's fine — just make sure it meets current safety standards and fits properly. A poorly fitting helmet is almost as risky as not wearing one at all.

Helmets become much more common on the slopes each year, and in busy weeks the hire shops can sell out. Pre-book a helmet with your rental to guarantee availability.

Many hotels and apartments in Arinsal offer their own equipment storage — communal or private — so check with your accommodation before you travel. Alternatively, Esports St Moritz has slopeside lockers you can rent for the week, which means you don't have to carry your equipment to and from the slopes each day.

Where available, lockers can be pre-booked on our online shop.
