Hi I am driving down after an overnight stay in Toulouse 21st Feb 2014. What is the best internet website to check out the current snow / road conditions the day before driving. Also would you recemend I carry snow chains or a snow boots for the tyres. Thanks for any help.

Hi David
The best one for road conditions is www.mobilitat.ad/ca. It's best to be prepared with snow chains, although if there's no snow on the forecast it could be an unnecessary expense.

Hi Steve, thanks. I have also found the following website dirso.fr/viabilitehivernale/CarteRn20.php showing the French road system weather conditions for the approach to the border. Hopefully not too much snow on the roads when we arrive. I presume local supermarkets on the French side will be selling snow chains if needed.

Hi David
They should indeed along with the fuel stations on route.

Thanks Hayley. Will check the weather nearer to our drive date and make the decision whether to buy them now in UK or en route from Toulouse the morning we do the final days drive.

Arrived safely, roads good. PERFECT SNOW on the slopes and BRILLIANT SUNSHINE. One of the best ski trips, so far. Thanks for all the info.
