Hi Cathy. I was advised that due to recent security measures ski boots were not allowed as hand luggage so didn't take the risk of having to rearrange my luggage at the check in desk. I know with ryanair that you can also take a small suitcase on board as i did this when i travelled to Dublin last year. This was just an option that i suggested rather than running the risk of the airline refusing them as hand luggage. We returned from Arinsal on the 6th Feb. We had a fantastic week there. Hope yo…

Just an update on this subject. I decided to put my ski boots in my case so i didn't have any hassle at the airport in case they wouldn't let me carry them as hand luggage. I travelled with easyjet and noticed that there is no weight limit on your hand luggage so i put my ski boots in my case and took a small case on the plane as hand luggage which i packed with clothes only, tops, jeans underwear etc. This meant i didn't overload my checked in bag and this kept it below the 20kg weight limit fo…

Can only give these apartments 10/10! Beautifully clean, attentive staff and all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. They even have heated floors! One minute walk from the gondola in the centre of the village and the ski hire shop is located below the apartments which is very convenient. No wonder they're the number 1 accommodation in Arinsal according to trip advisor. We really couldn't fault them. Also a big thanks to Steve and Emma whom we booked them through. Will definitely be b…

we are travelling to arinsal on 28th december for our first skiing holiday and i am looking for any advice on packing. I am worried about weight and how much room will be left in our cases once we have got the ski gear in as it is very bulky. i have been advised to travel in our ski jackets as this will take less room up in the cases. any other advice would be gratefully accepted. 13 days to go and counting!!

Thanks Steve, Had a read of the forum and totally excited about getting there now!!! I'm counting the days and checking the webcams and snow reports on a daily basis lol. We're not telling the kids till christmas moring that we're going so the excitement is very much self contained!! My parnter skiied years ago on a school trip and i'm sure our boys will love it (they're 11 and 13). We've bought most of our ski gear now, just need a few odds and ends. Bought a lot of it from tk maxx and skiwareh…

HI! We have booked a package with Inghams which includes ski school, boot hire and lift passes. We are staying at the hotel Solana which seems to have mixed reviews on tripadvisor though i think it will suffice for the time we will probably spend in the hotel which will be minimal. I think we get a ski locker at the gondola in with our price but i gather they are cheap to hire. Have been having a look on this site and a few other and there seem to be some decent bars and places to eat in the res…
