    • Staying in Ordino

      For Feb 2018 Half term week, we have booked a shorter holiday flying out on Monday, returning on Friday with 3 days skiing. We are staying at the Hotel Santa Barbera in Ordino as we enjoyed skiing in Arcalis last year. I have a few questions before arranging any extras;

      1. Where is the closest location that we can collect hire equipment from if we booked ski hire through you? Is there a shop in Massana?
      2. What are the hours of opening of the hire shop on Monday and Tuesday?
      3. Can you buy a 3 day lift pass?
      4. Is there an "Arcalis only" pass or do you have to buy a full area Vallnord pass?

      Kind regards.
    • Hi Simon,

      1. We do have a shop in La Massana (Viladomat), but we can also organise hire in Arcalis if you think you'll be going there more.
      2. La Massana shops opening times Monday/Tuesday is 09:00 - 20:00, Arcalis would be similar.
      3. Absolutely, you can do have a 3 day pass (you can do anything from 1 - 13)
      4. Yes, there is an Ordino-Arcalis pass. If you purchased this and then in-resort decided you want a day in Pal, you can do, it just costs €3 per day to upgrade to a Vallnord pass (but you need to do it for the remainder of the pass if that makes sense)

Will you have a hire car?

      Thank, Ian
    • Thanks for that. Very helpful.

We will indeed have a hire car as we found that it worked really well last year and we like having the flexibility, and it was the same price as the transfer coach for 4 of us. Obviously not for everyone though unless you are a confident driver, but we have been to Arinsal 3 times now so feel that we are getting good at finding our way around.

I think that we will just plump for full area passes to make things simple - having asked the girls, they want to ski at Arinsal on Day 1 as it is their favourite (and most familiar) ski area, maybe Arcalis Day 2 and I see us ending up back at Arinsal Day 3!

With that in mind, we might as well just collect equipment in Arinsal too which will make things more simple.

The kids are not going to bother with ski school this year. If we wanted to arrange a family private lesson at Arinsal for Day 1 of our holiday, do we have to contact the ski school direct and if so, do you have the details?

    • Hi Simon,

Great news, yes if you are planning to spend the first day in Arinsal it seems logical to get your equipment there, just be aware that you'll need to return it there too.

You can find out info about private lessons here (please be advised currently these are 2016/17 prices as these are due to be updated.)

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

      Thanks, Ian
