    • Snow Report 2012-13

Opening day today so what else to do except get straight on the mountain for a few runs! :D

It's freezing cold and this early in the season it still takes a bit of getting used to although I'm sure it won't take long! After squeezing back into our ski boots after a few months out of them we were like kids on Christmas morning and headed for Les Fonts chairlift. Off the top of the chair we took the blue run Les Fonts down and it was beautiful! There's quite a lot of snow already for opening day although the odd few blades of grass sticking through, and the snow is is great condition. There are a few areas that have been wind-swept making them harder but overall great for December 1st.

At the bottom we popped in to the ski school office to say hello before getting back up the Les Fonts chair to hit the other side, however when we got to the top of the chair we were 'dragged' into the Igloo bar by the new managers so we check it out!

The Igloo has been transformed into a great new bar with seating inside and out, and hot snacks to keep you warm and full of energy for skiing and snowboarding! It's definitely worth checking out, especially on a sunny day like today as the views are spectacular.

After our pit-stop it was down Port Vell which was a lot firmer than Les Fonts as it's on the shaded side of the mountain, then as we got towards the bottom and onto the red Estadi we hit powder, although it was a bit tracked by the time we found it!

All in all a great first morning to test out our legs and can't wait to head back up soon. As ever we'll be posting regular updates on here so keep up-to-date with our snow report throughout the season.

Don't forget to keep checking our weather page for our regular snow report with the numbers of lifts/runs open as well as a few webcams.

So what are you waiting for? Get booking your holiday!!

      Steve
