  • Hi Neale, It looks as though you should be fine with transfers, the last shared transfer of the day from Barcelona is at 22:00 (Terminal 1) or 22:15 (Terminal 2). Returning from Arinsal the first departure of the day is at 04:15. You can find the full timetable, plus prices and booking on our transfers page here: arinsal.co.uk/transfers.php Hopefully we will see you soon! If you have any other questions just let us know Emma

  • Hi Smickers! You can book PM ski lessons on our online shop here: arinsal.co.uk/shop/arinsal/ All English speaking group lessons have been updated to 20 hours this season rather than 15 hours at no extra cost which is great. You can see the timetable here: arinsal.co.uk/ski-school.php Hope that helps! Emma

  • Helmets, yes or no

    Emma - - Skiing & Snowboarding

    Post

Hi Matt, Helmets are not obligatory in Andorra, however they are always recommended. If you don't want to go to the expense of buying your own you can rent them here: arinsal.co.uk/shop/arinsal/ you'll find them under the "extras" tab. Hope that helps, just ask away if you have any more questions. All the best Emma

Hi Paul, It´s currently closed, however I´m not sure if that´s because of technical reasons or due to the fact that there has not been enough snow on that particular section of the mountain, off the top of my head I´m not sure if they have snow cannon coverage on that particular slope, it seems unlikely. Currently the only lifts / slopes closed in Arinsal are Salador (the one you refer to) and La Capa, everything else is open. However the snow is currently coming down nicely outside and forecast…

  • Good info Paul - however it is worth bearing in mind that this route takes you via the Cadi Tunel which will cost you in the region of €11-€13 each way (not quite sure if they have updated the price this year or not). After having a chat with Anna (above) who used to drive this route regularly (being an Andorran studying in Girona) the difference in driving between the two routes is approx 15 - 20 mins and the roads on the first route although a little longer are probably a bit better to drive o…

  • Hi Hydrox, The water is indeed labelled as "potable" or drinking water to you and me. The old unused building opposite Quo Vadis used to be a water factory bottling spring water and just like the water fountains in the street the water was provided by a fresh spring off the mountain. I however have never taken the plunge, as with any fresh spring water anywhere I suppose you cannot guarantee the cleanliness of the source if it is not regulated, however I do from time to time see tourists stoppin…

  • Hi Nicola, The options would be as follows: Bus: Catch the L5 bus from Arinsal to Andorra la Vella (€2.75 per person each way runs every 30 mins) where you would need to change onto either the L3 or L4 bus both of which pass through El Tarter (€4.10 per person each way every 20-30 mins). You would however need to check if this applies on New Years Eve as I'm sure there may be some changes to the bus schedules at this time, ususally the buses run until 21:00-22:00 (depending on the line) at night…

  • Skiing in early Feb

Emma - - Booking Your Holiday

    Post

Hi Richy, Thanks for your comment about the site Yes this year has been a bit of a late starter, however traditionally February is an excellent month for snow conditions, it is generally the busiest month of the season and plenty going on around the resort as well. Arinsal is a great resort for beginners, plenty of easy slopes and an excellent ski / board school with lots of native British instructors. It is also a very compact ski resort therefore good for keeping an eye on the kids but you als…

Hi Cathy, I have used the spa at the Princesa Parc on several occasions and would have no problem recommending it, you are correct that there are better spa's elsewhere in Andorra (Caldea, Andorra la Vella and Sport Wellness, Soldeu) however if you don't want to have the hassle of travelling elsewhere then the Princesa Parc is your best option. Just to give you a rough idea of prices: Two hour entry into the Wellness Centre (Hydromassage pool, 2 jacuzzis, sauna, hot marbles, hamman, hydromassage…

  • Hi SueperLeeds, Just to expand on Steve's reply; the price for private lessons is charged per hour, however you can book as many hours as you like (depending on instructor availability) so for example if you wanted to have 3 hours per day that would not be a problem, but you would not receive a discount for the extra hours. Hope that answers your question. Emma

  • Great skiing today :-)

    Emma - - Skiing & Snowboarding

    Post

Just got down off the mountain, and have to say, the conditions were fantastic! Was a little hard on the more exposed areas however there was some great powder snow to be found, particularly at the top of "La Tossa" and "Bony". Bright blue skies made the skiing even better (although a bit of a wind chill on the lifts!!)

  • Skiing Today

    Post

I went up the mountain for a few runs at lunchtime today and can second what Steve said on Thursday; it's still bitterly cold (even in the sunshine!) lots of layers needed! The snow was in surprisingly good condition, a little hard and icy in places which is to be expected with these low temperatures but generally was quite pleasant. The Les Marrades run (or the Crest run as it's more commonly known) was also open today enabling skiing right down to the village. The slopes are starting to get a …

Hi Roger, The main summer season lasts from approx June - Sept. Some businesses (not all however) will close down briefly during May and October during the transition between the summer and winter seasons. It can get fairly hot at times during July and August. There are loads of activities on offer in the area during the summer, including, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, canyoning, via ferratas, quad driving and lots more!
