  • I have been to Arinsal for a good few years now with my two daughters and have found all the bars are great for Apres. My girls LOVE The Derby (irish Bar) and we have over the years became friends with the staff due to returning so often. They love the atmosphere in there and the singing along with tunes that Keith plays, the pool table and table football keep them busy too. They all have offers for snacks when you come off the mountain so as I found out it depends on what the kids will want to …

  • Quote from Arrow77: “ Hi We are planning to go to Arinsal in for the first time in January and whilst myself and the kids ski, my wife is not keen on it. As a non skier: Are there lifts / gondola she could use to get closer to see the kids skiing? If so - how far could she get? Is there any cafe's or restaurants on the mountain which she could get to? Is there anything else to do on the mountain? Are there any passes she could use for either a pay per use or a points basis, as it does not seem w…

Thanks Steve Cannot wait to get over there now. Top class service as usual, great site. ;o)

  • I also arrive Sunday afternoon and start lessons on the Monday morning of the 18th. I dont think you can choose the sessions you attend but I maybe wrong. I was in Arinsal same time last year and the monday morning is the stressful one. When you join the Ski Schools they take you so far up the piste and do what can only be described as a Ski Off. as you ski down the instructors watch then place you into groups depending on what level your at. if you missed that first morning you may end up in a …

I had some brilliant advise given to me last year. Always wear more layers than less, if you start to get to warm you can always loose a layer into a coat pocket/back pack or locker. If the waether turns then you have it to put back on if needed. I had a bloke on my ski school last year that was sent to go dress properly by the instructor as he had a tshirt on under his jacket. The wind chill at the top of the mountain was -38. soft sod would have frozen... have fun you will love it,

  • Hayley that sounds like a good plan and I am sure they would be well up for that. Any excuse to dress up and they will ha ha. Thanks

  • Got it Karl, it looks fantastic. Cant wait to use it when we get outhere. thanks again

  • Karl, thanks once again for your help. Yes I have an Iphone and hunting down the app right now. cheers

  • When out in Arinsal last year I noticed lots of people using Apps tracking runs down the pistes etc. I use some at home for running and tracking the routes I take/distance and times. Can anyone recomend a good App that obvioulsy has the Vallnord maps available within it. Thanks
