Arinsal is a beautiful village in Andorra, set at an altitude of between 1550 and 2560 metres. In the summer Arinsal is
home to walkers and bikers, as well as those who just want to relax in the beautiful mountain scenery. In the winter, it
offers excellent skiing and snowboarding for beginners, as well as a good selection of runs for intermediates. The fact
that Arinsal is part of Vallnord means that Arcalisand Pal are included with the lift pass, offering a fantastic variety of runs, as well as some great places to cut off the pistes, if you need something a little more challenging.
The first ski lifts were installed in Arinsal in 1973 by Josep Serra, but the ski area was then taken over by the Comú of La Massana soon after. Over the years following, the ski areas of Pal and Ordino-Arcalis were developed. In 2001, the resorts of Pal and Arinsal were linked by a cablecar for the first time, and then in 2004, the area of Vallnord was created comprising of three ski resorts: Arinsal, Pal, and Ordino-Arcalis, all covered under the same lift pass.
Off the slopes, Arinsal is a very friendly resort, attracting repeat visitors year after year. There is a great selection of bars and restaurants which cater for all kinds of taste. The restaurants include British and Irish favourites as well as Mexican, Italian, Argentinian, not forgetting the local Catalan cuisine. Bars in Arinsal are family friendly, often providing entertainment such as singers, magicians or on Friday night is the "world famous" 70s party!
Andorra is a tiny country nestled on the border between France and Spain. Its official name is the Principality of Andorra (Catalan: Principat d'Andorra). There are seven parishes in Andorra, of which the parish of La Massana is where Arinsal sits. The official language is Catalan, however Spanish and French are widely spoken, and English is usually understood. Andorra does not have its own currency therefore it uses the Euro.
This independent website is provided free of charge to guests of Arinsal, offering an honest insight into the resort and the mountain, so if you're new to Arinsal, or if you're a regular visitor, you will hopefully find this site useful and come back regularly to catch up with the latest news, information, and gossip from the slopes!
